Suspect faces criminal trespass charge
Dellzell Chenoweth, 57, of Columbus, faces a potential criminal trespass charge as a result of an incident early Thursday morning in Lakeview.
Deputies were dispatched about 12:20 a.m. to the area of Bass Lane on a report from a resident reporting that a woman had been on her property, throwing items at her dogs.
The caller told deputies she had been asleep when she was awakened by her dogs barking. She then observed a woman carrying a small bag who was throwing something in the backyard at her dogs. She said the woman, who she identified as Chenoweth, also attempted to open the door to the garage.
Chenoweth reportedly had been staying at 420 N. Oak St., and deputies attempted to speak with her there. However, she refused to come to the door, and then she began calling sheriff’s office dispatchers. During the duration of the night, she reportedly call the non-emergency line 15 times and was belligerent with dispatchers.
A report has been forwarded to Bellefontaine Municipal Court Prosecutor’s Office for review.
