Barbara J. Trimble, 78, and Patrick C. Trimble, 77, both of West Liberty, were transported by Macochee EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of possible injuries sustained in a crash Saturday afternoon.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report both Mr. and Mrs. Trimble were passengers in a westbound jeep operated by Matt J. Downing, 40, of Bellefontaine, in the 2:45 p.m. crash.
Graham E. Higgins, 17, of West Liberty, reportedly was operating a southbound minivan on County Road 28 and made a right turn onto State Route 287. His vehicle was struck by Downing’s jeep.
The impact caused both vehicles to go off the left side of the road and the jeep struck a fence.
Graham also was treated at the scene by Macochee EMS personnel, but was not transported. He was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign. Downing did not report any injuries.
Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene. The drivers were each wearing lap and shoulder belts, while the two passengers were wearing only a lap belt, deputies said.
Pair issued summonses for domestic violence
Zachary J. Potter, 35, of 11170 Oneida Path, Lakeview, and Chelsie P. Brandenburg, 25, of 150 Harrison St., Lakeview, each were issued a summons for domestic violence as a result of an incident Sunday afternoon.
Deputies were dispatched about 2 p.m. to 11291 Oneida Path, Lakeview, in reference to a 911 hang-up call that later was determined to be related to a domestic dispute.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with Potter, who said his girlfriend Brandenburg had “flipped out” on him and allegedly hit him in the face multiple times with her fists. Deputies observed that he had a red mark on his left eye.
Brandenburg had left the residence and deputies located her at an address on Big Bear Path. She told deputies that Potter had arrived at the home with the winnings from a lottery ticket, and she began yelling at him and spit on him. She said Potter then punched her multiple times in the head and threw her out of the bedroom.
Deputies observed that she had sustained a scratch to her shoulder and marks on the bottom of her chin. She complained of shoulder and back pain and was transported by private vehicle to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment.
