West Liberty-Salem’s girls basketball team was firing on all cylinders as it dominated host Springfield Catholic Central 77-23 on Thursday in an Ohio Heritage Conference game.
The Tigers remain unbeaten at 5-0 overall and are off to a 2-0 start in the OHC.
WL-Salem sprinted to a 17-2 lead in the first quarter. The Tigers had another dominating effort in the second quarter with a 24-2 run, which increased the lead to 41-4 at halftime.
WL-Salem outscored Catholic Central 36-19 over the final two quarters to wrap up the victory.
Offensively, WL-Salem saw 13 different players score. Lily Yoder and Taylor Lauck led the team with 11 points apiece, Kelsey Day had nine points and Paige Shafer, Laine Godwin and Mikalia McIntosh each added eight points.
There was no junior varsity game.
WL-Salem hosts Northeastern on Saturday in another OHC contest.
