Green Hills Community resident realizes dream

Over coffee, a plan was brewed for a Green Hills Community resident to cross off an item from her bucket list.
Elinor Dowden, 91, who lives independently on the campus with her husband, LeRoy, participates in the weekly Coffee Connection group coordinated by Nita Wilkinson, director of development, and Mrs. Dowden wanted to zipline.
“My goal for this is to remind our residents that while their purpose might change, they still have much to give back to their community,” Wilkinson said. “And that they should still have goals and dreams and be striving to make these happen. So, we often discuss buckets lists — finally doing those little things they have put off for years such as reading that classic novel, doing yoga etc.”
