Zeno Mark Fissel Jr., 74, of Kenton, died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, at Southbrook Care Center in Springfield.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Kenton, with Pastor Blake Kenner officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Belle Center Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton.
He was born Dec. 26, 1945, in Columbus, to the late Zeno M. and Ruth (Robinson) Fissel Sr.
On July 26, 1969 he married Ruth Ann Cooke and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are two daughters, Ann (Ryan) Anderson of Kenton and Martha (Lucas) Mangrum of Pickerington; two sons, Matt (Jeri) Fissel of Circleville and Andy (Stacy) Fissel of West Liberty; nine grandchildren, Jensen, Theron, Chloe, Lukas, Issac, Morgan, Clayton, Abigail, and Calvin. As well as two sisters, Susan (Ross) Lohrber of Kenton and Fay Frater of Lima; one brother, Jim (Diana) Fissel of Huntsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He worked for the Hardin County Sheriff Department for a brief period and retired from Rockwell after 35 years.
Mark was a U.S. Marine Veteran serving during the Vietnam War being awarded a Bronze Star.
He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Kenton where he held many offices and was actively involved. He was active in his grandchildren’s lives and activities, enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. He loved his dogs and had coached Little League baseball for a number of years.
