Zelma L. McCann, age 82, of Zanesfield, passed away at 10 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She was born in Kincaid, W.Va., on June 1, 1935, to the late Wilmer and Mary Darlington Fridley.
On Nov. 30, 1963, she married Earl Wayne McCann and he preceded her in death, Dec. 5, 2010. Zelma was also preceded in death by a son, Lawrence “Larry” Presley; brothers, Arnold and Eugene Fridley; and sisters, Patsy Dorsey and Mary Daddysman.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne Alan (Aileen) McCann and Elvis (Michelle) Painter; brother, Delmas (Fay) Fridley; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Lawton, Janet (Frank) Dickinson, Joetta (Stephen) Mabe, Sharon (Eddie) Cahoon and Marlene Bowen; brother-in-law, Gary Dorsey; and many nieces and nephews.
Zelma retired from Howard Johnson in Columbus as a waitress.
She also worked at an egg farm and at Heartland in 1983. Zelma spent the rest of her time being a homemaker for her children and from time to time enjoyed fishing.
It was Zelma’s wish to be cremated and a service will be at a later date.
