Seven Zanesfield Petanque Club members attended the Petanque Amelia Island Open tournament Nov. 10-11 in Amelia Island, Fla. This was a doubles event with 185 teams from all over the world.
After five qualifying games on Saturday, Mohamed Boulahoual and Boukirat (NYC) were seventh and went 5-0, Ziggy Kessouagni and Hassoune (NYC) were 10th and went 5-0, Justin Bo Johns and Leon (Florida) were 37th and went 4-1, Shannon Hodge and Dejoy (Florida) were 98th and went 2- 3 and Mike and Joan Failor were 128th and went 2-3.
The top 32 moved on to the main tournament. Kessouagni placed fifth in the main tournament, Johns placed third in Concours BB and Hodge placed third in Consolante B.
