The Logan County Youth Leadership Program hosts a kick-off event Thursday, Sept. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at YMCA Camp Willson, 2732 County Road 11.
Youth Leadership high school members from Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake and Riverside schools will meet for the first event of the 2016-2017 school year. These students will participate in team-building and problem-solving skills with Jason Kimmel and Camp Willson staff members, and hear from guest speakers Christie Barnes and Katey Headley from the Healthy Living Coalition.
“Healthy Habits, Healthy You” through Mary Rutan Hospital offers a “delicious and healthy” lunch for the day.
The grades 9-12 Impact teams will meet to vote on four countywide activities to impact their community and several activities that impact their school district community.
The ninth-grade students will then meet three times this school year and three times their sophomore year to learn leadership skills, such as communication skills, public speaking, decision-making and goal-setting, soft skills and more.
