Representatives from YMCA of Central Ohio announced that they will be opening the YMCA Logan County Early Learning Center in Bellefontaine later this fall, offering high-quality, affordable child care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
The new Early Learning Center will be located at the Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ Discovery Center at 1973 State Route 47, Bellefontaine, making access to additional county services convenient.
“We are committed to providing access to high-quality early education and care to ensure all children are prepared for kindergarten and given the foundation necessary to reach their full potential,” said Bobbi Shannon, YMCA of Central Ohio executive director of early learning.
“I am very excited to welcome YMCA Logan County Early Learning Center,” said Logan County Board of DD Superintendent Saul Bauer. “The YMCA is opening a Child Care Center in the Discovery Center building and they will bring with them many years of experience providing a strong foundation for social, emotional and academic skills development.
“YMCA of Central Ohio recently won the Best in Ohio Business Award for Child Care. The YMCA will strengthen children and families and will help Logan County meet our vision of a healthier community. Please join me in welcoming the YMCA Early Learning Center to Logan County.”
A recent needs assessment revealed many families in Logan County need child care. Anyone interested in enrolling their child should fill out the interest form located at https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/logan.
Currently, the Y operates more than 75 licensed child care programs across central Ohio and has early learning centers in Franklin County. For more than 30 years, YMCA of Central Ohio has provided high quality, child care and education to meet community needs.

All families of Logan County can take advantage of special membership and discounted program rates at the Don M. & Margaret Hilliker YMCA, 300 Sloan Blvd. The Y offers swim lessons, in-person or virtual fitness classes, family activities throughout the year.
Outdoor activities also are available at YMCA Camp Willson, 2732 County Road 11.
