Wood carving is no longer a standalone department at the Logan County Fair.
In a regular fair board meeting Wednesday, the board opted to reconfigure its fine arts categories to now include wood carving exhibitors.
The board cited dwindling exhibitors in the wood carving trade as one reason for the move.
Bob Holderman, who has overseen the wood carving department and worked directly with exhibitors for decades, also informed the fair board office this week that he would no longer take such an active role in leading that department, fair board secretary Amy Sullivan said.
