Chance to explore dozens of opportunities to get involved
Women United hosts a Volunteer Fair featuring representatives from more than 21 nonprofit and civic organizations to showcase opportunities that they have this holiday season and for the coming months.
The career fair takes place from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday November 17, at the Hilliker YMCA, 300 Sloan Blvd., in Bellefontaine,
“Enriching and inspiring our community through mentorship and service is what WOMEN UNITED is all about,” said Christie Barns, Chair of the WOMEN UNITED Committee, an outreach of United Way of Logan County.
“One great way to demonstrate this purpose is through volunteerism. This is why WOMEN UNITED is pleased to offer to our community a Volunteer Fair that will showcase the many worthy opportunities right here in Logan County.”
The Volunteer Fair is not restricted to women and is an ideal chance for those who need to perform a certain number of community service hours like high school service clubs, or those who are just looking to make a difference by giving their time, such as retirees to explore multiple possibilities at one time.
Participants include: Adriel, Caring Kitchen, Discovery Riders, Gifts With Grace, Green Hills, Holland Theatre, LifeCare AllianceLogan Acres, Logan County Family Court CASA Program, Logan County Friendly Senior Center, Logan County History Center, Logan County Neighborhood Outreach Centers, Mary Rutan Hospital, New Path Pregnancy Care Center, Ohio State University Extension, Recovery Zone, Suicide Prevention Coalition of Logan & Champaign Counties, TCN Behavioral Health/New Directions Domestic Violence Program, United Way of Logan County / Women United and YMCA of Central Ohio.
Women United is a diverse, vibrant community within the United Way that is working to plan and implement awareness events, networking socials, and philanthropic activities throughout the year.
