Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Allen Township EMS responded about 2:10 p.m. Saturday to 9545 County Road 29, Zanesfield, on a report from a family member of a woman who had shot herself.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they found that the victim, Jean Roush, 54, of that address, had labored breathing. CareFlight helicopter began transporting her to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, but she was pronounced dead en route.
A revolver was found at the scene. The Local Outreach to Survivors of Suicide Team was called to the residence to assist the family.
• In an unrelated incident Monday afternoon, deputies and Indian Lake EMS responded about 4:30 p.m. to 11074 Lawn St., Lakeview, to a report of a woman who sustained an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound.
When deputies arrived, a family member was administering CPR to the victim, Karen Seebach, 53, of that address. She was transported by Indian Lake EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital, and was pronounced dead en route to the hospital.
Intruder charged with burglary, disorderly conduct
Christopher R. Brown, 41, of 11139 Tecumseh Path, Lakeview, was charged with burglary and disorderly conduct following an incident Monday evening in the Islandview area.
Deputies responded to 14023 Apple Ave., Islandview, Lakeview, about 10:40 p.m. on a report of an unknown man who had entered the residence.
Zoe Smalley-Hecht, 19, of that address, reported that Mr. Brown came in her residence uninvited. She said she grabbed her younger brother and they locked themselves in a bedroom.
She said the intruder told her to call 911 because he needed help and that people were trying to kill him. When deputies arrived, the defendant also reportedly told deputies that someone was trying to harm him.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

Ryan C. Leiss, 30, of 106 Walker St., DeGraff, was charged with domestic violence and lodged in the jail following an incident early this morning.
Deputies were contacted about 12:30 a.m. by his live-in girlfriend, Jessica M. Jenkins, 30, who said they had been involved in an argument while en route from Bellefontaine to DeGraff. Three children also reportedly were in the vehicle at the time.
She reported that Mr. Leiss grabbed her and slammed her head into the door. She said he then allegedly pushed her out of the moving vehicle.
Deputies located her walking in the area of Camp Willson on County Road 11 and transported her to her residence. No signs of injury were observed.
While speaking with Mr. Leiss, he denied that any physical violence had ensued. He was placed under arrest.
