Haley R. Conrad, 23, of Springfield, was transported by Macochee EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in a crash Tuesday afternoon.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a northbound 1998 Ford Explorer in the 5400 block of U.S. Route 68 about 2:20 p.m. when she slid on a patch of ice and drifted snow and then went off the right side of the road. Her vehicle struck a tree and then came to a rest.
Damage was heavy to the sport utility vehicle, which was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing her seat belt and was cited for failure to control.
• Driver Adriam R. Rogers, 28, of Huntsville, and a passenger in a second vehicle, Brianna M. Kramer, 18, of Bellefontaine, were transported by Indian Lake EMS and by private vehicle to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in a head-on collision Tuesday.
Deputies report Kramer was a passenger in a northbound 1994 Ford F-150 operated by Jonathan J. Coleman, 22, of Howard, on County Road 130 about 5:10 p.m.. Coleman reportedly failed to maintain control and went left of center during icy road conditions, striking Rogers’ southbound 2014 Chrysler 300.
Coleman did not report any injuries and was cited for failure to control. The occupants were wearing their seat belts. Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene.
• Deputies also responded to a non-injury crash involving a car and a semi tractor-trailer during snowy conditions about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. Route 33.
Jael K. Jackson, 19, of Lima, reportedly was operating a westbound 2005 Honda Civic in the left lane of U.S. 33 near State Route 292. She failed to control and went into the path of a westbound 2015 Volvo semi in the right lane operated by Barney L. Brewer, 54, of St. Paris, causing the semi to strike the passenger side of the car.
Damage was moderate to the semi and heavy to the car. All occupants were wearing their seat belts. Jackson was cited for failure to control.
• Tara A. Miller, 30, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to control relating to a crash on U.S. 33 Tuesday morning during snowy conditions.
Deputies report she was operating a westbound 2012 Honda Fit in the left lane of U.S. 33 near U.S. Route 68 about 5:40 a.m. when her vehicle began to spin and struck a westbound 2019 Ford Expedition in the right lane operated by Kristy Wilker, 31, of Fort Wayne, Ind. Both vehicles came to a rest in the median.
Damage was light to both vehicles and the drivers were wearing their seat belts.
Man lodged for receiving stolen property
Michael L. Miller, 44, of North Lewisburg, was charged with receiving stolen property Monday and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Deputies responded to the Marathon gas station, 1138 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, to investigate a report of a man with the stolen parts from a motorcycle An officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department was on the scene upon deputies’ arrival.
Sept. 12, a rural Zanesfield resident had reported the motorcycle parts stolen from his property along State Route 559, including a transmission.
Deputies found that the last six digits of the VIN of the motorcycle from the theft victim matched the last six digits of the VIN on the transmission that Miller had in his possession at the gas station.
Miller told deputies he had obtained the motorcycle parts from an individual at a Columbus address. He provided deputies with information and investigation continues.
