Marjorie A. Bateman, 79, was found dead inside her 328 Walnut St. home at about 10:30 a.m. Friday. An employees of LifeCare Alliance’s meals on wheels program reportedly found the woman and no foul play is suspected.
Alcohol, drug charges filed after stops
Lori J. Bailey, 36, of 226 N. Madriver St., was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs after a 4:15 p.m. Saturday traffic stop on Lake Avenue at Ludlow Road.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department saw her driving erratically throughout the neighborhood before the traffic stop. A breath test returned results in excess of 0.273 blood alcohol content, or well more than three times the legal limit.
• Bradley S. Short, 31, of 1600 S. Detroit St., Apt. 25, was arrested for possession of drugs after a 12:15 a.m. Saturday traffic stop near the intersection of Main Street and Spring Avenue.
An officer saw his vehicle traveling at an estimated speed of 30 to 35 mph through downtown. He acted suspiciously and officers asked for and received permission to search the vehicle.
A pill bottle with a single narcotic pain reliever was located.
He was issued a summons for the misdemeanor possession charge.
