UNION COUNTY — Deputies of the Union County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the apparent self-inflicted death of a 21-year-old Ada woman who was found Thursday evening next to a vehicle along U.S. Route 33 just west of State Route 161.
Kera-Ann N. Bollinger was transported by squad to Dublin Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Deputies and units from the Jerome Township Fire Department and the Washington Township Fire Department responded to the scene about 9 p.m. after receiving a 911 call.
Deputies report that the woman was on the ground next to the vehicle and had sustained apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. A handgun was found at the scene and it appears no one else was in the vehicle.
The victim was later transported to the Franklin County Morgue, where an autopsy will be performed. This incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
One westbound lane of U.S. 33 was closed by the Ohio Department of Transportation while sheriff’s investigators processed the scene.
