Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that claimed the life of a Belle Center woman Saturday evening.
Amanda Taylor, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that occurred in the 3800 block of south U.S. Route 68.
Deputies report she was operating a northbound car about 7 p.m. when her vehicle was struck head-on by a southbound sport utility vehicle operated by David McLaughlin, 40, of Bellefontaine, that went left of center.
McLaughlin was transported by CareFlight helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital of Dayton for treatment of serious injuries sustained in the crash. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Alcohol use is suspected by McLaughlin, with test results pending, deputies said.
Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage.
This is the 12th fatal crash in Logan County this year.
