Sarah J. Eagy, 29, of 8827 Franklin St., Lakeview, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident Sunday at her residence.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence about 10 a.m. on a report of a domestic violence involving a juvenile, the girl’s mother and mother’s girlfriend.
The 15-year-old girl told deputies she had been watching a video on her phone and had been asked to turn the volume down. She said when she didn’t listen, her mother’s girlfriend, Eagy, had entered the room and struck her in the face and pulled her hair. The girl said she kicked Eagy’s leg and then her mother tried to intervene.
While speaking with the teen, deputies observed that she had dried blood on her nostrils. She said her nose had been bleeding after Eagy struck her. Several of the girl’s younger siblings provided deputies with a similar account of the events.
Eagy told deputies that the teen had kicked at her when she tried to take away her phone, and said the 15-year-old had tried to strike her. She was placed under arrest and lodged in the jail.
Aggressive dog shot during city incident
A deputy serving civil process paperwork at an address in the city reports that a dog was behaving aggressively at the residence and the deputy had to shoot the dog in self-defense.
The deputy responded about 12:55 p.m. Monday to 424 N. Madriver St., Apt. 2, to serve paperwork to Angel M. Fehr, 37. The apartment entrance reportedly was at the top of an interior stairwell with a landing.
As the deputy approached the apartment, he could hear multiple dogs barking from inside the building. When Fehr opened the door, she was asked to keep the dogs inside, but she was unable to do so, and three dogs exited the apartment.
The deputy said the one dog in particular was especially aggressive and advanced toward the deputy down several stairs. The dog closed within 2 feet of the deputy, and then was shot in the neck. It died a short time later.
Fehr told deputies the dog had been acting aggressively only recently, after she had discovered a possible medical issue with the dog, finding lumps under the dog’s skin.
