A woman who led officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department on a short chase through the city and then fled on foot was apprehended later in the evening Friday.
An officer on patrol at 3:45 p.m. attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Jami McKinnon, 34, of Bellefontaine, after she made an improper turn at Spring Avenue and Newell Street. The driver allegedly fled toward Patterson Avenue, Ludlow Road, Chilliothe Avenue and Powers Street before stopping in the middle of the block and fleeing on foot.
A passenger in the vehicle, Timothy L. Slavin, 23, of Russells Point, remained at the scene and was taken into custody on a probation violation. Drugs and paraphernalia were reportedly found inside the vehicle.
Ms. McKinnon was located at about 9 p.m. at 1011⁄2 E. Auburn Ave. and was taken to the Logan County Jail.
