West Liberty-Salem’s boys basketball team saw visiting Greenon rally in the second half Tuesday for a 69-60 Ohio Heritage Conference victory.
The Tigers slip to 6-2 overall and 5-2 in the league, while the Knights move to 5-4, 4-2.
Greenon held an 18-17 lead after the opening quarter. WL-Salem outscored the Knights 19-15 in the second quarter to move ahead 36-33 at halftime.
The Knights took the momentum back in the third quarter, using an 18-8 run to grab a 51-44 lead.
Greenon stayed in control in the final period to secure the win.
Holden Nease scored a game-high 19 points for the Tigers. Matthew Loffing had 11 points, Eli McGill tallied eight points and Nick Burden added seven points.
In junior varsity action, WL-Salem edged Greenon 39-38. Logan Saylor led the Tigers with 13 points and Isaac Brown had 10 points.
Greenon pulled out the win in the freshman game, prevailing 39-34. Matthew Jones led the Tigers with nine points.
WL-Salem travels to Greeneview on Friday for its next OHC contest.
