Deputies responded to several non-injury winter weather-related crashes Wednesday morning:
• Thomas Schindel, 77, of West Liberty, was cited for failure to control as a result of a crash about 6:35 a.m. Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a westbound pickup in the 7700 block of State Route 508 when he lost control on the snowy road and went off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Damage was heavy to the vehicle, and the driver was wearing his seat belt.
• A failure to control citation also was issued to Kenneth Campbell, 60, of DeGraff, related to a crash at 6 a.m. on County Road 65. Deputies report he was operating a northbound pickup just north of Township Road 295 when he went off the right side of the road into a ditch and then struck a concrete embankment near a bridge. Damage was heavy to his pickup. The driver was wearing his seat belt.
• Amber Glass, 25, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to control as a result of a crash about 11:10 a.m. on County Road 130. Deputies report she was operating a southbound sport utility vehicle near County Road 57 when her vehicle spun out of control on the snow and ice and slid off the right side of the road and struck a fence. Damage was light to her SUV. She was wearing her seat belt, and two children in the vehicle were properly restrained in child safety seats.
