William Edward “Bill” Lee Jr., 68, of Lakeview, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016, at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
Born Jan. 9, 1948, to the late William E. Sr. and Katherine Deitlin Lee, he married the former Carolyn A. Rupert on May 16, 1997, and she survives, along with four children, Michelle (Jim) Lee and Stephanie (Al) Rodriguez, both of Grove City, Eric (Jill) Lee of Galloway and Casey (Lou) Russo of Upper Arlington; two stepchildren, Scott (Tracey) Mohler of Lakeview and Denise Arnold of Lima; 12 grandchildren Danielle (Zach) West, Hunter Howland, Sarah Shrodes, Brendon Rodriguez, Cecelia Rodriguez, Julianne Lee, Amelia Lee, Nicholas Russo, Bryan Mohler, Bryce Mohler, Sarah Mohler and Briana Mohler; three great-grandchildren, Ava West, Gabriel West and Alexander Howland, and a stepbrother, Jack Innis of Lakeview.
Bill was a 1966 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Columbus and a 1970 graduate of The Ohio State University. He was a commercial underwriter for Grange Insurance for more than 42 years. Bill was a member of Indian Lake Moose Lodge 1533 and Doyle R. Miller AMVETS Post 39, both in Lakeview. Bill enjoyed gardening, especially tending to his roses, boating and reading books. He was an avid OSU Buckeye and Cincinnati Bengals fan. Bill also enjoyed watching NASCAR races especially driver Carl Edwards.
Fred Albert conducts a memorial service at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview with visitation from 3 to 6 p.m.
Burial is in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Columbus, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
