A Quincy man entered a guilty plea to an aggravated assault in connection with an August stabbing in West Mansfield.
James O. Barker, 31, appeared this week in Logan County Common Pleas Court and admitted to his role in the 3 a.m. Aug. 8 stabbing that hospitalized Michael L. Murray of Springfield.
Randy C. Burdiss, 23, of Sidney, also was indicted for felonious assault and remains at large. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Mr. Barker also admitted a community control violation during this week’s hearing and will be sentenced Jan. 30.
Man gets community service, fine for role in reported shooting

Michael Vogler, 51, of Lakeview, was sentenced to three years of community control, 120 hours of community service and ordered to pay a $500 fine, court costs and attorney fees for receiving stolen property and having weapons under disability.
He is one of three men charged in connection with a reported shooting April 28 at Indian Lake.
The receiving stolen property charge relates to an April 13 theft of outdoor barstools from the home of a Lakeview property owner while the weapon charge is in connection with the reported shooting at his 8981 Hilltop Drive, Lakeview, home. A man who was not identified during the investigation showed up at a hospital in St. Marys for treatment of a gunshot wound.
Brett Eley, 30, of Wapakoneta, already has been sentenced to community control and ordered to pay a $500 fine for carrying a concealed weapon.
The alleged shooter, Jason M. Davidson, 39, remains at large and faces charges of felonious assault, a second-degree felony; tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony; receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony; theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; theft, a fifth-degree felony; and misdemeanor theft.
