The Village of West Mansfield is looking to fill the zoning officer position, which was left vacant when former zoning officer Kim Kerns succeeded to the mayor’s post Jan. 1.
The village council agreed at its January meeting to advertise to fill the post and said anyone interested in the position should contact the village offices.
Council learned a $100 membership fee could help them realize a substantial savings on street sweeping and collection equipment, Village Administrator David Evans reported. The council would only need to pass an ordinance to join the Ohio Cooperative Purchase Plan. Funds have already been set aside in the 2016 budget to make the equipment purchase, the administrator reported.
In other activity planned for 2016, council will begin looking at the village’s storm water collection system. A 2015 repair of the storm sewer at the West Mansfield Conservation Club showed several tile near the repair spot had begun to collapse.
