West Liberty was one of 75 Ohio communities to share $745,000 in grants from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation under a program to protect firefighters from carcinogens and other harmful elements encountered while fighting fires.
The village will receive $9,370 to purchase a specialized washing machine known as an extractor, 22 washable gloves and 14 barrier hoods.
