Several salary schedules, including some raises for personnel, were approved Monday in a regular meeting of the West Liberty Village Council.
The salary for the water/sewer superintendent was set at a total of $57,058.61, effective Jan. 4. The ordinance, which passed on first reading only, represents a 1.5 percent increase for that position.
The hourly wage for the assistant to the water superintendent was set at $20.69 per hour. Both jobs are 40 hours per week.
Additionally, council will afford 50- cent per-hour raises for each necessary water and/or sewer license that has either already been earned, or will be earned in the future. There is no limit to the number of licenses that may be earned, but the 50-cent raises only go toward necessary certifications of the operation of the plant, according to the ordinance.
