Driver Jesse Kindle, 38, of Lima, and his passenger, Dakota Kindle, 25, both of Lima, each were arrested following a traffic stop about 5:30 p.m. Monday, officers of the Washington Township Police Department report.
Jesse was charged with felony counts of possession of heroin, possession of drug abuse instruments, along with driving without a license, failure to reinstate, license forfeiture suspension, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dakota was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.
Officers on patrol in area of State Route 708 near U.S. Route 33 observed Jesse operating a vehicle with a suspended license and initiated the stop.
While speaking with Jesse, he appeared to have his right hand behind his back trying to conceal something, officers said. He was instructed to exit the vehicle and show his hands. Officers then noticed two glass methamphetamine pipes sitting on the driver’s seat, as well as an orange needle cap.
Dakota also was observed trying to hide a hypodermic needle inside a coat pocket. Officers from the Russells Point Police Department were called to assist.
Officers recovered suspected heroin, black tar heroin, several needles, and additional glass methamphetamine pipes.
Both the driver and passenger were arrested and transported to Logan County Jail, where a criminal history of check revealed that Jesse had prior drug convictions on his record.
