Wendell Hurless, 31, of Russells Point, was charged with obstruction of official police business, possession of drug abuse instruments and resisting arrest relating to an incident Monday evening.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department officer on patrol about 6:10 p.m. in the area of State Route 708 north of Russells Point observed Hurless walking the roadway and were aware of an active warrant for him.
When the officer attempted to make contact with Hurless, he reportedly took off running westbound and a foot chase began, continuing for several blocks, where Hurless was caught and taken into custody after a brief struggle.
Officers said the defendant then began to vomit, prompting officers to request Indian Lake EMS to respond to the scene.
Hurless was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital, where he advised he had been using fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine all day. He eventually was released from the hospital and was lodged into the Logan County Jail.
