Walter L. Martin, 82, of Russells Point, passed away at 9:12 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018 ,at his residence.
He was born in Dayton on Sept. 28, 1935, to the late Walter H. and Oral Martin.
On July 8, 1952, he married Martha E. “Marty” Sturgil and she preceded him in death Jan. 27, 2017. Also preceding him in death was a grandson, Christopher Martin.
He is survived by two sons, Robert (Cindy) Martin of Huntsville, and Lee (Erin) Martin of Hopewell; grandchildren, Emma and Charley Sposa, Amy Downing, Rob (AuBree) Martin, Carrie (Kevin) Apling, Jennifer (Denny) Urmston and Bill Vest; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Walter was a Graphic Arts International Union representative for 30 years and loved his job. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida, boating, fishing and being on Indian Lake. He also enjoyed being around his family and his grandchildren. Walter loved his wife, Marty, of 65 years, so much, and they are both happily together again.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Jennifer Smith for all her care to Walter the past year.
Deacon Robert Crook officiates a funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan.30, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, following visitation that begins at 11 a.m. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
