Polls opened in Logan County and around Ohio at 6:30 a.m. today for the general election, including at this polling location at Green Hills Community, and remain open until 7:30 p.m. today. The only countywide issue on today’s ballot is the Logan County History Center’s replacement levy. Benjamin Logan Schools also is proposing an earned income tax operating levy, among other city, village, township and board of education candidates on the ballot. The Logan County Board of Elections officials reported this morning that they have received 1,496 absentee ballots out of the 1,576 that had been requested, and were predicting voter turnout today for approximately 40 percent. Statewide, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced that at the close of early voting Monday, 320,299 ballots had been cast according to the latest data compiled from Ohio’s Boards of Elections. This includes more then 194,034 absentee ballots cast by mail, 125,666 in person ballots and 599 military and overseas ballots. Boards of Elections are accepting military and overseas ballots for another 10 days.
