VOLLRATH |
Dayton Power & Light Co.’s Ben Vollrath has been chosen as Paul Benedetti’s replacement as president and CEO of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce. He also will be president of the Community Improvement Corporation.
Benedetti, started with the chamber in March 2011, will step down from his position at the end of the year as he is a candidate for an open Logan County Commissioner seat.
“We are very pleased to announce this appointment,” reported John Bodin, chairman of the chamber board. “Ben has knowledge of the area, trust of the local governments and tremendous competencies in economic development, infrastructure and finance.”
Promoted as an experienced community leader and businessman with an outstanding track record, Vollrath leaves his position as the economic development program manager and community liaison for DP&L in Logan, Union and Champaign counties.
His background working with communities in infrastructure development, site readiness, job creation and marketing will be invaluable in helping elevate Logan County’s economic development initiatives, chamber leaders believe.
He has a bachelor’s degree in business economics from Wheaton College; a master of business administration from Capital University; and will complete the economic development program at the Oklahoma University Economic Development Institute this fall.
He will begin his duties in late August as part of the leadership transition.
Vollrath and his wife Jacey are currently living in Marysville and are parents of Blakely, 7; Camden, 5; and Kyler, 4. They are looking to relocate to the community this summer.
