Raiders dispatch Arrows, advance to sectional final
Benjamin Logan’s volleyball team handled Tecumseh in three sets Thursday to earn a berth in the sectional final.
The Raiders won by scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-9.
Ben Logan is now 22-2 on the season and will play Tippecanoe at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Tecumseh High School.
Makayla Williams had 11 kills and two aces to help spark the Raiders. Lily Blackburn tallied eight kills, Brielle Moorhouse had 27 assists and four aces, Mia Stahler had 19 digs and Jillian Plikerd posted four aces.
Indian Lake falls to Falcons
Indian Lake’s volleyball season ace to an end Wednesday as the Lakers were defeated by Graham 25-18, 21-25, 25-5, 25-23 in a Division II sectional semifinal at Tecumseh High School.
Allison Kinney was 9-10 serving and had nine kills and two solo blocks for the Lakers, Stephanie Altstaetter was 12-13 serving with two aces, was 24-28 hitting with seven kills and 41-41 setting with 12 assists, Megan Kimbler was 11-12 on serves received and had eight digs, Paige Mefford was 18-19 on serves received and had four digs, Devin Rice had six kills, Kenzie Dixon had seven digs and two kills, Madison Brentlinger had four kills and 12 digs, Halle Roby was 12-12 serving, was 11-14 hitting with five kills and 44-46 setting with 16 assists and Katie Roby was 11-11 serving, 31-35 on serves received and had 32 digs.
The Lakers end their season with a 14-9 record.
Spartans get OVCC tourney win
The Calvary Christian varsity volleyball team started their OVCC tournament games Thursday against Temple Christian School in Dayton.
CCS won 25-21, 25-8, 25-23.
Abby Jenkins had nine kills and Madelyn Trittschuh had seven kills for the Spartans. Ruby Slemmons handed the team 12 assists while Lucy Jarvis had 10. In digs, Jenkins led with nine and Jarvis had five. Stacia Rogan took the lead in best serve receive passes.
The Spartans are now 14-6 and head to Troy today to face Franklin Monroe at 12:30 p.m. in the school’s first OHSAA volleyball tournament game.
JV Spartans lose in tourney
Calvary Christian’s junior varsity volleyball team lost to Milford Christian Academy in OVCC tourney action.
Milford Christian won by scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-20. Kinzie Bernard had 10 points, Madhuri Cook had four assists and Nora Thornton tallied three kills for the Spartans.
