Seven more local entities have launched online checkbooks through the Ohio Treasurer Office’s OhioCheckbook.com.
In December 2014, Treasurer Josh Mandel launched OhioCheckbook.com, which sets a new national standard for government transparency and for the first time in Ohio history puts all state spending information on the internet. It recently earned Ohio the number one government transparency ranking in the country for the second year in a row.
Lakeview and Huntsville are the seventh and eighth villages in Logan County to post spending on OhioCheckbook.com, and Lake Township, Miami Township, Washington Township and Perry Township are the third, fourth, fifth and sixth county townships to post transactions.
The BMRT Ambulance District is the first ambulance district in the state to to join the effort.
