Vicki J. Smith, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at her home in Newnan, Ga., surrounded by her family.
She was born July 9, 1948, in Lima, to Barbara R. Bloomfield, surviving, and the late Patrick J. Clark. In 1972, Vicki married Russell (Joe) Smith and he survives in Newnan, Ga.
She was a beloved schoolteacher in the Upper Scioto Valley School District for 35 years. Vicki was a devoted Christian and spent time serving in children’s and women’s ministries at her church. A tireless volunteer, Vicki compassionately donated countless hours of her time to various organizations, including Our Daily Bread and the Coweta Samaritan Clinic. She loved bringing people together, especially her family, through her passion for cooking and entertaining. In her free time, Vicki read numerous books, spent time in her garden, and traveled to many historical sites with her husband, especially after moving to Georgia.
She is survived by her children: daughter, Beth (Gregg) Santilli of Dallas, Texas; son, Joe (Josie) Wauben of The Villages, Fla.; daughter, Rachael (Aaron) Bollinger of Newnan, Ga.; and daughter, Lindsay (Bo) Hofmann of Sugar Hill, Ga. Her eleven surviving grandchildren include: Justin and Graham Santilli, Patrick, Victoria, and Alexis Wauben, Anna Lillard, Kristen Hensel, Sydney and Jace Bollinger, and Carsyn and Quinn Hofmann; and two great grandchildren: Thad and Finn Lillard. Also surviving are her siblings Rick (Ann) Clark of Russells Point, Sandy (Jeff) Hissong of Arlington, and John (Jeannine) Clark of Findlay.
The family hosts a Celebration of Life service for Vicki from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at Indian Lake Community Church, 121 N. Orchard Island Road, Russells Point.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to her church, Grace Chapel Christian Union at 9491 Santa Fe Line Rd, Wapakoneta, OH 45895.
