CenturyLink crews have repaired an equipment malfunction that affected 911 service for the Bellefontaine Police Department and the Union County Sheriff’s Office since Monday.

Spokesman Pat Welch said an equipment malfunction occurred Monday and caused disruptions for customers in Lima, Bellefontaine, Mt. Vernon and Mansfield.
As of Tuesday afternoon, telephone and Internet services were restored to customers, he reported, and at 9:16 p.m. 911 services were restored in Union County. Around noon, Bellefontaine’s 911 service was restored.
During the service interruption, local 911 calls were rerouted to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers and then transferred to the police dispatch center.
