John Frank, 53, of 275 W. Harrison Ave., Lakeview, was issued summonses for domestic violence and resisting arrest following an incident Wednesday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to his address about 9:55 p.m. on a report of a domestic dispute called in by his daughter.
The family members reported that Mr. Frank had been yelling at the family’s dog, telling the dog to lay down. He allegedly began choking the dog, and his wife, Liza, 53, tried to intervene.
The defendant reportedly punched his wife in the eye during the altercation. He then grabbed the dog and left in his vehicle.
Officers of the Russells Point Police Department located his vehicle a short time later and initiated a traffic stop in the area of U.S. Route 33 and Lincoln Boulevard.
Mr. Frank reportedly was belligerent with officers and resisted arrest. He then complained of chest pain, and was transported by Indian Lake EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital, where he was issued the summonses.
