She denied possessing any drugs.
Mertz was arrested on a parole violation and also charged with menacing for threatening an officer.
Edmister was transported to the Logan County Jail where staff found more crack cocaine concealed in her bra.
She was charged with possessing crack cocaine and conveyance of drugs of abuse into a jail.

Friedric A. Reep, 25, of Greenwich, was charged Sunday with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He also was issued traffic citations for not using a safety belt and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
At 1:30 a.m., an officer observed Reep drive a northbound pickup truck from a southbound-only Detroit Street onto eastbound Sandusky Avenue.

John S. Sheeley, 51, of 8420 County Road 97, was charged Saturday with persistent disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Officers were called to Comfort Inn, 260 Northview Drive, at 12:25 a.m. after Sheeley reportedly caused a disturbance and refused to leave the bar.
When officers arrived, he was outside his pickup truck with another man stopping him from getting in.
Officers were trying to talk with a bartender and a patron but Sheeley kept yelling at them. He also continued to yell at officers who were trying to get a phone number from him for a sober person.
After several warnings, officers informed Sheeley he was under arrest. He pulled away from officers as they were handcuffing him and attempted to attack the other patron.
