Robert J. Grimes, 37, of Bellefontaine, was charged Sunday with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department responded to an 8:20 p.m. complaint of a man using drugs in a parked car at 1202 Greenwood St. Grimes was found in the car with a glass pipe to his lips consuming methamphetamine vapors.
He was ordered out of the car and a small plastic bag with methamphetamine was found in the right front pocket of his pants. A bag with marijuana was found in the left front pants pocket.
The pipe and other drug paraphernalia were found in the car.
Grimes was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Joseph D. Giron, 38, of 1090 Heritage Court, was charged Monday with possession of heroin, conveyance of drugs of abuse into a jail; possession of marijuana, public intoxication and possession of drug abuse instruments.
At 11:25 a.m., officers responded to a fight across the street from the department’s 135 N. Detroit St. location after a detective spotted the suspect rolling on the ground with a female. The female was not injured and did not want to pursue charges.
Giron was visibly intoxicated and had trouble keeping his balance, officers report.
Officers recovered a cigarette pack with a marijuana blunt and two hypodermic syringes in his pants pockets. He was asked if he possessed any other contraband and he claimed there was nothing else.
He was arrested and transported to the jail where heroin was found inside folded, thin cardboard inside one of his boots.
Man charged with OVI
David S. Harber, 36, of 604 Florence Ave., was arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs after he was spotted riding a mini motorcycle eastbound in the westbound lane of Sandusky Avenue near Elm Street around 5:45 p.m. Sunday.
He turned northbound onto Elm Street which is one-way southbound and rode on the sidewalk to a residence in the 200 block of north Elm St.
An officer approached him and noted an odor of alcohol while talking with Harber. A field sobriety test indicated Harber was impaired by alcohol and his breathalyzer sample was recorded at 0.148.
He was issued traffic citations for a marked lanes violation and riding on a sidewalk.
He was lodged in jail.
Wife lodged after domestic
Marra D. Harber, 41, of 224 W. Brown Ave., was arrested Monday for domestic violence, persistent disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Officers were at the residence at 8:15 a.m. and met with Jonathan Harber, of the same address, who claimed his wife came home from a relative’s residence and became angry with him. She allegedly kneed him in the back while he was in the bed and pushed him when he got up to get away.
He declined to fill out a complaint and there were no visible injuries, officers reported.
The defendant repeatedly yelled at her husband from the porch while officers were trying to gather information. She attempted to physically go after her husband and was stopped by officers.
She then resisted efforts to handcuff her by trying to pull away from officers and dropping to the floor of the porch as they handcuffed her.
She was lodged in jail.
Wanted woman tries to evade officers
Megan E. Clary, 33, of 205 Meadowbrook Drive, was arrested Monday on a warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge and charged with obstructing official business.
Officers were at the residence at 2:20 p.m. after receiving a tip that Clary was inside the home. They arrived and talked with Clary’s mother, Angela Brown, who claimed she couldn’t find Clary.
While talking with Brown, officers heard sounds of movement in the garage and the overhead door move. An officer ran to the back of the house as Clary was trying to run off. She turned around and ran back into the garage and locked herself inside.
She exited after her mother talked her into it.
She was lodged in jail.
