Ashlynn Manns, 21, of 3436 County Road 12, was charged Sunday with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and issued traffic citations for driving under suspension and no headlights.
At 1:10 a.m., she was stopped after an officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department observed her turn northbound from Speedway, 329 S. Main St., without the headlights turned on her car.
The officer followed and conducted a traffic stop in a public parking lot north of the 100 block of west Chillicothe Avenue. Based on Manns’ erratic behavior, field sobriety tests were conducted with the motorist after a second officer arrived to assist.
When it came time to perform a one leg stand portion of the test, Manns reportedly began cheerleading like motions and swung her legs about. She nearly fell multiple times and was caught from falling just before officers concluded the tests and arrested her.
She refused chemical tests and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Lesley A. Frost, 38, of 4325 W. State Route 47, was charged Saturday with public intoxication.
Officers were alerted to a person prone on the pavement of a public parking lot north of the 100 block of west Chillicothe Avenue around 10:10 p.m. and found Frost conscious but obviously intoxicated.
With no one available to pick her up, officers took her into custody for her safety and lodged her in jail.
