Craig B. Walters, 49, of Canal Winchester, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to a traffic stop Thursday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on patrol about 9:35 p.m. observed a vehicle on the U.S. Route 33 exit ramp to County Road 130 that made several marked lanes violations and nearly struck a guardrail. The vehicle also failed to stop at the stop sign at C.R. 130.
Deputies initiated a stop with the vehicle at C.R. 130 and County Road 37. While speaking with the driver, Walters, deputies said his speech was slurred and his eyes were glassy. He told deputies that he had been drinking.
Deputies recovered an open container of alcohol inside his vehicle.
Walters refused to participate in field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest and was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he also refused to submit to a breath test.
He also was cited for marked lanes and stop sign violations.

Zachary B. Lump, 27, of Lakeview, was transported by BMRT EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries sustained in a crash about 6:40 p.m. Saturday.
Deputies report he was operating a southbound 2007 Honda Civic on State Route 235 and attempted to make a left turn into Flip Flop Cove, 15882 State Route 235, Belle Center. He reportedly turning into the path of a northbound 2011 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Steven Benjamin Elling, 35, of New Richmond, and the Civic was struck by the Silverado.
Elling and his passenger did not report any injuries. All of the occupants were wearing their seat belts.
Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene.
Lump was cited for failure to yield.
• Katrina A. Wolfe, 20, of Pickerington, was cited for failure to control related to a non-injury crash Saturday afternoon on County Road 29.
Deputies report she was operating an eastbound 2022 Ford Edge about 12:20 p.m. near County Road 55 when she drove off the right side of the road, striking a driveway barrier and then the ditch.
Damage was heavy to the sport utility vehicle, which was towed from the scene. Wolfe was wearing a seat belt.
