Two city men were charged after a street fight around 8:45 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of west Columbus Avenue, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report.
Payton Miller, 19, of 107 W. Williams Ave., Apt. 72, was charged with assault and persistent disorderly conduct and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Adrian R. Ramos, 20, of 500 Gunntown Road, Apt. G6, was charged with assault.
Officers report Miller was aggressive toward them and was taken into custody only after an officer drew a taser and pointed it at the suspect.
While dealing with Miller, Ramos left the scene with Rylee H. Webb. He was located at his residence and issued a summons.
Driver cited in Sunday crash
Gary L.D. Burnside, 32, of Bellefontaine, cited for running a red light after a two-vehicle injury crash at 1:35 p.m. Sunday on Main Street at Dowell Avenue.
Terry L. Hecht, 55, of Bellefontaine, and Sonja E. Taggart, 49, of Bellefontaine, each was transported by Bellefontaine squads to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of injuries.
An off-duty officer observed Burnside drive through a red light while northbound in a pickup truck. His vehicle hit Hecht’s pickup which turning southbound from Dowell.
Damage was heavy to both pickup trucks.
City man reports scam
A city man told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department on Tuesday that he received an unsolicited debit card from US Bank for unemployment benefits.
The resident said he did not apply for the card and has no idea why it was mailed to him. He also reports a letter came a few day prior informing him of an address change to a credit card.
Officers advised the resident to contact the Ohio Attorney General’s office and the U.S. Department of Commerce via the agency’s respective websites to file identity theft reports. He also was advised to contact credit bureaus and put a freeze on his credit.
Paint dumped in lot
April Long of Bellefontaine reported Tuesday that she drove into McDonalds, 1127 N. Main St., around 4:45 a.m. to report for work and drove through a thick spill of white paint.
She immediately drove her sport utility vehicle through a nearby car wash but it did remove the paint.
Officers report the industrial pavement paint apparently was dumped in the parking lot overnight.
