MARYSVILLE — Trooper Tyler Easter was selected by his peers at the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol as Post Trooper of the Year for 2017. This honor is bestowed upon one trooper per year at each patrol post throughout the state.
The Post Trooper of the Year Award is awarded to the trooper who exemplifies what it means to be an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper. He or she must possess technical knowledge of the job, maintain good morale, have good communication skills, demonstrate resourcefulness, and work toward the division’s goals and objectives.
The selected trooper must represent the division in a professional manner and adhere to the core values throughout their personal and professional life.
Trooper Easter is a valued trooper at the Marysville Post, his fellow post members said. He joined the patrol in November 2012 as a member of the 154th Academy Class.
He earned his commission in April of 2013 and was assigned to the Milan Patrol Post.
In June of 2014, Trooper Easter transferred to his current assignment at the Marysville Patrol Post. Since his transfer, Trooper Easter has earned the Safe Driving Award and served as a Field Training Officer for newly appointed troopers.
