Triad’s girls basketball team used a second-half rally to put away host Ridgemont 60-54 on Tuesday in a local non-league meeting.
The Cardinals trailed 31-23 at halftime, but found away to outscore the Gophers 37-23 in the final two quarters.
“This was our third game in four nights and I just wasn’t sure we had enough gas in the tank,” said Triad head coach Jeff Merklin. “These girls reached down deep and in the last 12 minutes of the game played as well a defense as any team I’ve ever coached. It was a fantastic team effort tonight.”
