Triad’s boys basketball team got close to its first win of the season Tuesday, but came up short as visiting Mechanicsburg held on for a 44-39 Ohio Heritage Conference victory.
The Indians move their record to 7-9 overall and 5-8 in the league, while the Cardinals drop to 0-20, 0-14.
Mechanicsburg led 10-4 to end the first quarter, but Triad outscored the Indians 11-5 in the second quarter. That tied the game at 15-15 entering halftime.
