A Bellefontaine man entered guilty pleas during Monday hearings before Logan County Common Pleas Judge Mark S. O’Connor to transporting a significant quantity of heroin into the city and a Lima man admitted taking part in a rash of burglaries at area campgrounds.
Jeremiah Hinkle, 35, of Bellefontaine, pleaded guilty to second-degree felony counts of possession and trafficking drugs and an additional fifth-degree possession charge.
He was arrested returning to the city June 2 after officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department learned he was making a trip to Columbus to buy heroin for numerous people, Assistant Logan County Prosecutor Daniel Huston said in court.
He was detained in the Hyland Hills shopping center parking lot in the 800 block of east Sandusky Avenue. During a search of the vehicle, officers found 105 doses of heroin and five OxyContin pills. He reportedly admitted he was paid by others to make the trip and deliver the drugs.

• Larry Lyle III, 26, of Lima, entered guilty pleas to two counts of burglary, 19 counts of theft, 11 counts of vandalism and one count of criminal damaging.
He was charged with codefendant Alyssa M. Taflinger, 25, were arrested Dec. 28 after deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office saw them leaving the Oak Crest Campground, 4226 County Road 187, where they were headed to investigate a burglary complaint.
Investigation connected the couple to burglaries of 34 campers at 10 different area campgrounds over several months.
