Randy R. Gordon, 32, of 1044 Heritage Court, was arrested Friday on a warrant for trafficking in drugs and charged with posses- sion of cocaine.
An officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department on patrol observed his sport utility vehicle parked with the engine running near Florence Avenue and Euclid Street around 8:35 p.m. He checked on the vehicle and found Gordon’s 14-year-old daughter sitting inside the SUV.
Gordon emerged from a nearby residence and was taken into custody on the warrant. He admitted on the way to the Logan County Jail that he had cocaine in plastic baggies in his right shoe.
His daughter was released to her mother.
• Nicholas C. Emerich, 31, of 410 West St., was arrested for obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia after he ran from a 2:15 a.m. traffic stop on West Street.
He was spotted running southbound on Troy Road. He refused to obey orders to stop and was taken into custody at gunpoint after a brief foot chase. The officer unholstered his handgun after Emerich refused to remove his hands from his pockets.
He told the officer he ran after the driver stopped abruptly and fled himself.
A straw with suspected white powder residue was found in a cigarette packet that the suspect removed from his pockets just before his arrest.
