Marcus W. Wilkerson, 33, of Springfield, was arrested Saturday for possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and obstructing official business.
Around 4:05 p.m., he was stopped at Speedy Mart, 511 S. Main St., for driving a car with window tint that was too dark.
In conversation with an officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department, the defendant slurred and it appeared he had something in his mouth.
The officer ordered him to open his mouth and observed small plastic bags. He ordered the defendant to spit out the bags several times before he complied.
The bags contained heroin. A plastic container with marijuana was recovered from a front pants pocket while $307 and a cellular phone also were seized as evidence.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

William B. Jarman, 26, of 713 W. Patterson Ave., was arrested at 5:35 p.m. Saturday for aggravated menacing and was served a Franklin County warrant for breaking and entering.
He allegedly enter Kayleen Grago’s 568 Cooper Ave. residence and took a video game system. He also allegedly threatened to shoot her.
He was lodged in jail.
Drivers face OVI charges
Travis A. Johnson, 28, of 333 Penny Lane, was charged Sunday with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and was cited for a stop sign violation.
He was observed disregarding stop signs in the High Point Village shopping plaza, 2033 S. Main St., around 11:40 p.m.
Field sobriety tests indicated he was impaired and breath tests came back at 0.229.
• Trevor Steinwender, 23, of Hilliard, was charged Sunday with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs after a 3:40 a.m. traffic stop. He also was cited for failure to drive in the marked lanes of the road after he drove into Speedway, 600 E. Sandusky Ave.
He was observed driving over the side marking line while eastbound on U.S. 33 near 540.
Officers detected an odor of alcohol and field sobriety tests indicated the motorist was impaired. His breath test samples were 0.25.
