Nicholas Wisse, 27, of Bellefontaine, was charged with a felony count of possession of drugs, along with possession of drug paraphernalia and was cited for loud exhaust during a traffic stop Wednesday evening.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol about 7:40 p.m. in the area of U.S. Route 33 and Township Road 94 observed a vehicle with a loud exhaust and a broken front windshield.
Officers initiated the traffic stop, identifying the driver as Wisse. The driver appeared observed overly nervous, officers said, and he was asked to exit the vehicle.
When asked if there was anything illegal on his person or inside the vehicle, the defendant advised that he did have methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
During a vehicle search, officers recovered 1.7 g of suspected methamphetamine, two glass meth pipes and a marijuana pipe. Wisse was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail.
