West Liberty-Salem’s track and field teams both placed first in the six-team Ohio Heritage Conference North division meet Tuesday at WL-S.
The WL-S girls dominated their meet, scoring 148 points. Fairbanks was second with 80, Mechanicsburg was third with 62, Triad took fourth with 54, Northeastern was fifth with 29 and West Jefferson finished seventh with seven points.
Junior Delaney Jones led the Lady Tigers by winning the long jump (15-6) and the 100 (12.23). Also placing first for WL-S were Tori Douthwaite in the pole vault (8-6), Sophia Hardwick in the 300 hurdles (48.97), Malia Miller in the 3,200 (12:17.40), the 3,200 relay team of Addison McAuley, Ashley Yoder, Mallory Bostick and Malia Miller (10:20.06), the 800 relay team of Sophia Hardwick, Hattie Jacobs, Claire Longshore and Gwen McCullough (1:53.76) and the 400 relay team of Tori Douthwaite, Delaney Jones, Chloe Griffith and Claire Longshore (52.26).
Taking second for WL-S were Sophia Hardwick 100 hurdles (17.0) and Discus (96-0), Addison McAuley in the 1,600 (5:42.96) and the 1,600 relay team of Gwen McCullough, Ashley Yoder, Addison McAuley and Mallory Bostick (4:23.94).
Third-place finishes went to Claire Longshore in the 100 hurdles (17.10) and 300 hurdles (50.27), Ashley Yoder in the 800 (2:34.14), Lyndee Harrison in the shot put (29-4), Chloe Griffith in the long jump (13-5.75), Anna Cole in the 3,200 (17.50.85) and the 3,200 B relay team of Lily Smith, Mariska Smith, Mylee Dooley and Taylor Kennedy (11:34.05).
Finishing in fourth place for the Tigers were Isabella Hardwick in the discus (93-2), Alaina Irving in the 100 hurdles (17.90), Chloe Griffith in the 100 (13.59), Mariska Smith in the 1,600 (6:20.27), Gwen McCullough in the 400 (1:04.4), Hattie Jacobs in the 300 hurdles (53.87) and the 400 B relay of Lexi Hausler, Elise Longshore, Alaina Irving and Hattie Jacobs (56.84).
Fifth-place efforts went to Hattie Jacobs in the 100 hurdles (18.11), Lily Smith in the 1,600 (6:23.16), Mallory Bostick in the 400 (1:04.82) and Gwen McCullough (28.35) Adding sixth-place finishes were Lyndee Harrison in the discus (83-4), Tori Douthwaite in the 100 (13.90) and 200 (28.65), Taylor Kennedy in the 1,600 (6:25.77) and the 1,600 B relay team of Lily Smith, Taylor Kennedy, Emma Smith and Mariska Smith (4:49.89).
In the boys meet, the Tigers scored 143 points to take the top spot. M’burg was second (112.5), Northeastern finished third (42), West Jefferson was fourth (40.5), Fairbanks finished fifth (29) and Triad finished sixth (18).
Leading the Tigers with wins were Mark Bair in the discus (153-8), Dylan King in the 3,200 (10:34.04), Jack Bahan in the 200 (23.31) and 100 (11.25), Jackson Steider in the 110 hurdles (16.31), Brevin Louden in the 400 (55.16), the 400 relay (45.35) of Henderson, Bahan, McGill, and Troy Bradley and the 800 relay (1:38.50) of Myers, Louden, Lauck and Reminder.
Earning runner-up spots were Slayde Merriman in the pole vault (12-0), Mark Bair in the shot put (42-10), Casey Boyer in the high jump (5-8), Troy Bradley in the 800 (2:09.81), Mason Barger in the 3,200 (11:31.12), Taryn Bradley in the 300 hurdles (45.11) and the 1,600 relay team of Lauck, Henderson, Q. Rudolph and LaRoche (3:46.79).
Grabbing third-place finishes were Craig Stanford in the pole vault (11-0), Gabe McGill in the 200 (23.94), Joey LaRoche in the 800 (2:10.16), Asher Knox in the 1,600 (4:41.66) and the 1,600 B relay (3:49.14) of Knox, Wallen, Taryn Bradley and Troy Bradley.
Finishing in fourth for the Tigers were Max McCombs in the 3,200 (13:13.24), Tanner Myers in the 200 (24.29), Jake Lauck in the 400 (56.49), Taryn Bradley in the 110 hurdles (18.36) and the 800 B relay (1:49.2) of Jones, Neer, Saylor and Gluckle.
Taking fifth for WL-S were Hunter Knotts in the high jump (5-2), Quentin Rudolph in the 1,600 (4:55.69), Lincoln Henderson in the 100 (11.93) and the 400 relay (51.64) of Kauffman, Campbell, Bolton and Strapp.
Bradley Petry added a sixth-place finish in the 100 (11.96).
Eaton, LeMay lead Cardinals at OHC North meet
Cayla Eaton won the 100 hurdles and Mia LeMay won the discus and shot put to lead Triad’s girls at the OHC North six-team meet Tuesday.
Adding second-place finishes for the Lady Cardinals were Emma Ferguson in the 3,200,
Eaton in the long jump, Arlo Monroe in the shot put and the 400 relay team of Ferguson, Eaton, Kimber Instine and Abbey Overfield.
Taking third were Monroe in the discus and the 1,600 relay team of Ashtyn Millice, Eaton, Instine and Overfield.
Leading the Triad boys team with third-place efforts were Awsom Mitchell in the 100 and Hayden Williams in the 3,200.
Henderson sets record for BL girls at Kenton
Benjamin Logan’s track and field teams competed in a tri-meet with Columbus Grove and host Kenton on Tuesday. The girls team results were not available.
In the boys meet, Kenton won with 77 points, Ben Logan was second with 57.5 points and Columbus Grove took third with 40.5 points.
The Lady Raiders were led by Isabel Henderson, who set a new school record of 15.37 in winning the 100 hurdles. Henderson also won the 200 (26.25) and the long jump (17-01).
Nora Elliott provided a big highlight as well by tying her school record in the pole vault (10-06). Other wins for the Lady Raiders were turned in by the 800 relay team of Storm LeVan, Mya Burrey, Ella Chamberlain and Kaylee Hays (1:56.78), Georgia Bates in the 800 (2:33.14), Lauren Hemmelgarn in the shot put (29-03) and Abby Vance in the high jump (4-10).
Taking second for Ben Logan were the 3,200 relay team of Bates, Mylee Boysel, Estella Wenger and Lexi Archer (10:57.23), Kate Gulick in the 100 hurdles (17.29), Vance in the 100 (13.69), the 400 relay team of Gulick, Evelyn VanWinkle, Bailey Lewis and Aleah France (57.90), Hemmelgarn in the discus (95-10) and Burrey in the long jump (15-02.25).
Finishing in third for the Raiders were Avah Miller in the 300 hurdles (54.91), Mylee Boysel in the 800 (2:45.21), Vance in the 200 (28.10), Hays in the discus (8-08), France in the high jump (4-04), Vance in the long jump (15-02) and Scarlett Elliott in the pole vault (8-06).
Adding fourth-place finishes for Ben Logan were Hadley Boysel in the 1,600 (6:19.12), Scarlett Elliott in the 800 (2:48.88) and Storm LeVan in the long jump (14-02.25).
Leading Ben Logan’s boys team with first-place finishes were Tyler Shoopman in the 400 (56.07), Carter Buck in the 300 hurdles (45.04), Grahsyn Bailey in the pole vault (11-0), Roman Maxwell in the high jump (5-6), the 400 relay team of Collin Powell, Ben Chamberlain, Dylan Vance and Candin Tucker (45.54) and the 800 relay team of Carter Buck, Chamberlain, Vance and Tucker (1:35.84).
Earning runner-up finishes for Ben Logan were Powell in the 100 (12.28), Chamberlain in the 200 (24.85), the 3,200 relay team of Shoopman, Eric Hughes, Owen Weeks and Eli Rhodes (9:07.73) and the 1,600 relay team of Carter Buck, Vance, Hughes and Chamberlain (3:43.44).
Finishing in third place were Tucker in the 100 (12.29) and 200 (25.06), Kyle Kibler in the 400 (59.54), Hughes in the 1,600 (5:06.39), Weeks in the 800 (2:20.72), Ethan Miller in the high jump (5-4) and long jump (17-6), the 3,200 relay team of Landon Zehner, Maxwell Troth, Kyle Kiblerand Gabe Elsasser (9:33.33) and the 800 relay team of Powell, Davis Matthews, Gavin Troth and Hunter Andrix (1:40.18).
Adding fourth-place finishes for the Raiders were Gavin Troth in the 100 (12.46), Hunter Andrix in the 400 (59.59), Carter Buck in the 110 hurdles (18.25), the 400 relay team of Landon Braddock, Miller, Gavin Troth and Michael Dilbone (48.55) and the 1,600 relay team of Shoopman, Zehner, Weeks and Rhodes (3:56.68).
