Brandon Orahood hit a go-ahead triple in the bottom of the sixth inning to send West Liberty-Salem’s baseball team past visiting Mechanicsburg 3-2 in its season opener Tuesday in Ohio Heritage Conference action.

The Indians inched their way to a 2-0 lead after the top of the fifth inning.
WL-Salem’s Thomas Allen and Bryce Jones each drove in a run in the bottom of the frame to tie the game 2-2.
Orahood then came through with his triple in the bottom of the sixth inning to score Brandon Upton. That put the Tigers up 3-2.
WL-Salem then held the Indians scoreless in the top of the seventh to seal the win.
