Mechanicsburg’s softball team used some early momentum to get past host West Liberty-Salem 5-0 on Tuesday in an Ohio Heritage Conference matchup.

The Tigers are now 1-1 on the season and 0-1 in the OHC.
After a scoreless first inning, M’burg scored two runs in the second inning and two more runs in the third third inning. That gave the Indians a 4-0 advantage.
WL-Salem was unable to get anyone across the plate, while Mechanicsburg was able to tack on another run in the top of the seventh.
The Tigers’ offense mustered just three hits, with those coming from Kelsey Day, Kylie Gilroy and Grace Woodruff.
